Day 1 Arrival at Helsinki airport. Direct Finnair flight Helsinki - Rovaniemi. Accommodation in chalets, superior class. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 Departure to Saariselkä in the very north of Finland. Lunch and a husky safari. Accommodation at a glass roof hotel. During the night you can see the northern lights at any time. Dinner of traditional Lappish delicacies like the reindeer meat and blueberry juice. We make a trip to the mountain top to see the northern lights even closer.
Day 3 Drive to Kemi, a city located by the sea. A cruise adventure across the frozen sea aboard icebreaker ‘Sampo’. The four-hour trip includes a guided tour, a delicious 3-course meal and the possibility for the exciting experience of swimming amongst the ice, dressed in survival suits. After the cruise, we visit the winter wonderland – Kemi SnowCastle. Experience the snow and ice sculptures, outdoor activities and an Arctic atmosphere! Overnight in Kemi and dinner in the Snow Restaurant.
Day 4 Departure to Rovaniemi. A snowmobile safari to a reindeer farm where you will hear more about reindeer husbandry and Lappish culture. In the afternoon the trip continues to Santa Claus Village with time to do shopping in Santa Claus’ Village. During the day you get to meet Santa Claus himself. If you wish a professional photographer can take a portrait or video of you and Santa. We will enjoy lunch in a cosy restaurant. And you will get a Diploma for crossing the Arctic Circle! Free time for shopping in the centre of Rovaniemi and accommodation in lodges. Dinner at the restaurant of the hotel.
Day 5 Departure to the airport of Rovaniemi. A direct flight to Helsinki with a direct connection to Reykjavík, the capital of Iceland. Transportation to Blue Lagoon, a magnificent geothermal spa in the open air. After relaxed bathing transportation to the centre of Reykjavík. Accommodation in the centre of Reykjavík. Dinner at a restaurant near the hotel.
Day 6 A city sightseeing tour. Reykjavík is the northernmost capital in the world. Among other sights we will see the picturesque city centre, the colourful fishing harbour, a geothermal public swimming pool, the summit meeting Höfdi house and the 'Pearl', the panoramic glass dome overlooking the capital and surroundings. After the tour free time for private sightseeing and shopping.
Day 7 Departure to the 'Golden Circle' tour which takes about 8 hours. Among the highlights are some of the most famous sights in Iceland, such as the waterfall Gullfoss – the Golden Waterfall – the number one of its kind in the country. We also explore the hot spring area of the Old Geysir, the “father” of all spouting hot springs. Geysir has not been very active in recent years, but its mate Strokkur has taken over, erupting hot water fountains high into the air in every five minutes. Another highlight of this tour is the National Park of Thingvellir, the site of the ancient Icelandic parliament and the place where the tectonic plates are drifting apart.
Day 8 A trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula which features dramatic volcanic craters, lava fields and geothermal waters. Exploring the mountains and vast lava fields, this tour takes us to the westernmost tip of the peninsula, with its countless steam-vents and bubbling mud pools. We will also visit Grindavík, a small but prosperous fishing community.
Day 9 Early breakfast departure to the airport. A direct flight to Helsinki (Icelandair). A lunch in Helsinki and by ferry to Tallinn. The trip takes 2 hours and the modern ferry is fully equipped with cafes, restaurants and shops. Tallinn is one of the oldest capital cities of Northern Europe with a very charming old town. Accommodation in the medieval old town. Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.
Day 10 A guided walk tour in the beautiful old town. Modern shuttle ferry to Helsinki. Lunch aboard the ship. Shopping in Helsinki before departure to the airport.
